The Municipality of Anchorage Public Transportation Department is planning a new transit transfer facility to replace the current bus stop on Sixth Avenue at the Anchorage Museum of History and Art. This location is the first public transportation/People Mover bus stop eastbound from downtown, and will provide a safe, attractive place to catch a bus. Design of the new facility will complement the museum’s expansion, link the museum and the Central Business District, and incorporate Winter City features.

Design development drawings are now available, select “Design Development Drawings” from the menu on the left to view them. Construction drawings, the final step in the design process, will be completed in December. The project will go out to bid in January, and the bid will be awarded in April. Construction will take place in summer 2009.
